Artist Statement

“There’s no way anyone can spend time with Mark Heussenstamm and come away feeling anything less than up. His vigor, his comedic sense of life, his energy and the smile which constantly graces his face, are totally infectious. If ever an artist personified the nature of his art, it’s Heusso...” (Editor, Australian Newspaper 1995) Heralded as one of the new breed of  “Constructivists”, Heusso splits his time between his studios in Western Australia, Hawaii and California. Although born and schooled in California, he and his family have made their home in Western Australia for the past 40 years. That isolation has allowed Heusso to develop an original artistic style.....but be warned, his art may cause laughter and he takes no responsibility if you bust your gut!

Exhibitions

Since 1991 Heusso has had over 35 solo exhibitions. He has also participated in numerous mixed shows. His exhibitions have delighted art lovers from across the globe. Sights include the Virgin Islands, Miami, Los Angeles, Perth, Margaret River, Palm Springs, Santa Barbara, Las Vegas, Newport Beach, Del Mar, Laguna Beach, Hawaiian Islands, Santa Rosa.
