Enjoy Getting to know….Kyle Hughes-Odgers
When did you first feel the desire to be artistic and realise you had talent?
I never really thought about it. I was always interested in drawing growing up it was just something I was compelled to do.
Where did you learn your art?
Self taught.
What inspires you most?
Life, Exploring new ideas, Adventure.
What message are you sending to the viewer of your art?
My work is mostly narrative based with each individual story or painting adding to the greater story across the complete body of work. Each painting is a small part of a much bigger world.
Describe your studio…
Nice high ceilings and wooden floors, dry areas for drawing/planning and a messy area for painting and experiments. I share the space with my wife Kara Peacock.
What mediums do you use and why?
I like experimenting with lots of different mediums, whatever is the best option for the outcome.
What are you working on now?
My next solo exhibition at Turner Galleries in June, my third children’s book and a few public art projects.
Kyle Hughes-Odgers (b.1981) is a multi-disciplinary Australian Visual Artist who works locally and globally on art projects across various formats – Murals, Gallery Exhibitions and 3D installations.
